I myself do not have a cat, however, I have a friend that I visit frequently and she has two. I seem to only have the allergic reaction when I am in her house. I have other friends with cats, and as long as I don’t touch them I am fine. What could be different about her house? It’s so bad that 5 minutes from walking in the door I can feel my throat getting scratchy, itchy, red, watery eyes etc. Is there anything I can take in order to reduce these symptoms? Claritin and Benadryl showed no relief. Even vacuuming right before I came didn’t help!

My roomates girlfriend is allergic to cats, and shes loves my kitten. My fiance says that a kitten has a different dander than cats, so she shouldnt be allergic. Well its been about two weeks and she has had no signs of allergic reaction to the kitten, even holding it for long periods of time. But tonight she just randomly fainted. Could this be connected at all? -Evan

Well, I don’t know if I still am but every Spring I got my allergies. Mid-way through Spring, I stopped taking my medicine and I was just fine. But that same day, my sister, who was not allergic to anything, suddenly got an allergic reaction to pollen. I asked my mom and my health teacher if they knew if that was possible but they said they never heard of anything like that happening and think it was just an interesting coincidence. I think that may be true but I would like someone else’s opinion about this. Thanks to whoever answers this.
